angels and wires 2025-07-16 A poem about technology. And mushrooms.
A dithered monochrome image of a mushroom. Mushrooms, 2024, Daniel.

rain comes and goes
from the soils
laced with love
a mushroom grows.

decay makes
death grows
of my heart
the mushroom knows.

a god is here
whispers the forest
among the roots
mycelium spirit.

we created angels
with organic wires
and veins inside
our screens.

then we ripped their
wings from their
backs their
halos from their
heads their,

metal to me
gold to veins
tin to skin.

a network of bones
through forests and
cities and gardens and,

i feel it under
the parking lot
in the dirt.

i feel it reach inside and
solder pins to neurons and
copper to cells and
fungus to arteries and
take a byte of my heart.

from my head
the mushroom grows
the wire says
decompose.

from my head
an interface \grows
my heart
the mushroom chose.
